Food Not Bombs is an international organization founded in 1980, with many chapters working in local communities across the United States. The SE Portland chapter of Food Not Bombs serves a weekly vegan (and mostly organic) meal on Saturdays prepared by volunteers, potluck style.

We also hand out produce, tofu, bread and packaged goods donated by different local stores, bakeries, food delivery services and farmers. Our entire operation is volunteer based, and we charge nothing for the food we provide.

We promote and embody sustainable practices throughout our operation. Our meals and pickups are done using bikes and trailers and we discourage single use products. Our aim is to show people how a community can come together to do things outside the capitalistic system.
